What’s in store
Join us on campus for AC Day 1! New students, join your profs and classmates for your scheduled Program Orientation. The rest of the day is up to you – create your own AC Day 1 experience by choosing from activities that interest you!
Program Orientation: Level 1 learners at the Ottawa campus, you will be contacted by your Program Coordinator via email with specific details about where your Program Orientation will be hosted (i.e., a unique Zoom meeting link, via their Brightspace Homeroom, or on-campus) closer to AC Day 1. If you have any questions, please contact your Program Coordinator.
Supports and Social Activities: These activities, open to new and returning students, were selected to help prepare you for the classroom, teach you something new, and give you an opportunity to have fun – there’s something for everyone!

AC Day 1 Virtual Magazine

New Students: Classes will only be suspended on AC Day 1 for incoming Level 1 learners at the Ottawa Campus (this excludes apprenticeship students) so that you can attend Program Orientation and take part in AC Day 1 workshops and social activities. Classes will return to regular schedule the following day. Please check your schedule on ACSIS.
Returning Students: Classes for returning upper-level students will not be suspended, but you are invited to participate in AC Day 1 activities as your schedules allow. Please check your schedule on ACSIS.

Frequently asked questions
If you have purchased an Algonquin College parking permit, please park in your designated area (Lot 8, 9, or 12). If you do not have a permit, limited parking will be available in the Lot 12 (Park, Pay and Go), or in the Visitor’s Parking Lot, for a fee.
There are many ways to get to campus including public transit, biking, ride matching, carpooling and more. If you are entitled to a U-Pass (transit pass) submit your photo in advance online and your pass will be ready for pick up on campus.
AC Day 1 is for all full-time new and returning students in Ottawa. AC Online students do not need to attend AC Day 1, and will instead attend their own Online Learning Orientation.
Classes for incoming level 1 students will be suspended until 1pm on AC Day 1 so that they can attend Program Orientation and take part in AC Day 1 activities. Classes for returning upper-level students will not be suspended, but they are invited to participate as their schedule permits.
